Marvel Legends - (Netflix) ELEKTRA!

Marvel Legends: Marvel Knights (Man-Thing Wave) - Elektra - Hasbro 2017

Someday I'm going to watch the rest of Daredevil. I started watching it a couple years ago but I got distracted and never picked it up again. I definitely will though because I've been a big fan of Charlie Cox since Stardust and I have a real soft spot for Elektra. In researching this post I read a pretty scathing review of the character (on Screenrant of course). Apparently her overall characterization and origin are way off base. But I'm still interested in seeing it and judging for myself. I know fans weren't too thrilled with the Elektra movie from 2005 either, but I personally love it. That solo comic series from the early 2000s was pretty great too. Despite her popularity and perseverance as a major Marvel character, Elektra really hasn't received many good action figures. The best one was the the Marvel Legends 2-Pack from 2008, but she has that spindly old body style. So although this Netflix version isn't a classic look, I would definitely say it's the best Elektra figure so far (in my humble opinion). Let's check her out below!

For some reason I thought her lack of a bicep cut was a unique feature, but I just looked and it turns out I'm crazy and a ton of my recent Marvel Legends figures share these same upper arms.

Elektra comes with an unmasked head and two sais.

The sais are super bendable (i.e.... warped).
It's a shame they don't make accessories like these out of a more rigid material.

I haven't seen Elektra in the show yet so it's hard for me to tell if the likeness to Elodie Yung is accurate or not. From my Google searches, I tend to think the likeness isn't super great. But fun fact, she played Jinx in G.I.Joe Retaliation... so some of you may already have Elodie figures in your collections.

By the way, I found a great use for the second head. I was super disappointed with the Sharon Carter figure and I was hoping I would eventually find a replacement head. I might go all the way and paint her hair blonde.

Elektra comes with the Left Leg of Man-Thing.

Time for some Group and Comparison Pics!

Here she is with the Jessica Jones figure from this wave.

Cheers!

  1. I like this figure except those enormous forearms. It's completely disproportionate to the rest. I like her face and hair, but for some reason I keep seeing Rosario Dawson.

  2. I thought both seasons of Daredevil were great so I would definitely recommend picking it back up again in your spare time. For the record, I actually liked the series incarnation of Electra.

I think the likeness of decent, just not as spot on as Jessica Jones, Gamora, or Hela, or pretty much any of the recent ML ladies. The only big drawback to this figure, like the previous commenter stated, is the Popeye forearms.

That said, the unmasked head really looks good on Sharon Carter. She almost looks like a Star Wars character!

  3. OK, since I posted this morning I have started watching that just released Defenders series. Now I am wishing that Hasbro had waited to give us an Electra figure in the new costume!

  4. I don't get the hate for Elektra in the Netflix show. I quite liked her in season two and especially in The Defenders. You might especially like her in the latter.

  5. Does this head fit on a comic Elektra body?
