TOY FAIR 2014 Coverage - FUNKO!

http://www.shesfantastic.com/2014/02/toy-fair-2014-coverage-funko.html

POP! - Mystery Minis - Legacy Collection - ReAction - Fabrikation

In my humble opinion, Funko was the winner for the most mind-blowing reveals at Toy Fair this year.  That's saying a LOT this year, too.  DC Collectibles and Mattel were hot on their heels, but the sheer diversity of new Funko products gives them that extra boost.

I'll start with my favorites:

Funko - Legacy Collection - Magic the Gathering
June 2014

I don't know anything about these characters aside from the fact that they look awesome.

Chandra Nalaar

Nissa Revane

Liliana Vess

Funko - Legacy Collection - Game of Thrones
Winter/Spring 2014

Daenerys Targaryen

Daenerys Targaryen & Arya Stark

Brienne of Tarth (and Khal Drogo)

Funko - Interchangeable Magnetic Vinyl

Harley Quinn

Funko - Fabrikation
April 2014

Harley Quinn

Funko - ReAction - Universal Monsters

Bride of Frankenstein

Funko - ReAction - Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Buffy & Willow

Funko - ReAction - Terminator

Sarah Connor

Funko - ReAction - Pulp Fiction

Mia Wallace

Funko - ReAction - Nightmare Before Christmas

Sally

Funko - ReAction - Firefly

ZoeWashburne & Kaylee Frye

 \

Funko Pop!

Jessica Rabbit and Roger Rabbit

Maleficent & Aurora (Live-action film version)

Black Widow

Teen Titans: Starfire & Raven

Funko - Mystery Minis - Marvel Universe

Dark Phoenix

Scarlett Witch

Funko - Mystery Minis - Game of Thrones

Daenerys Targaryen (and Jon Snow)

Arya Stark (and Khal Drogo)

And here is a new collection that I really liked but doesn't have any ladies yet:

Funko - Legacy Collection - Fantastic Mr. Fox

My only disappointment was the lack of new DC figures.  I expected some new DC Pops, Mystery Minis, and a '66 Batgirl Wacky Wobbler (and Pop).  Hopefully we'll see them soon!

Cheers!

  1. Really blown away by Funko!

Love the ReAction figures. Haven't seen Firefly before, but I will be checking it out. Sooo awesome to have new Buffy figures coming out too. Willow looks great.

Didn't know anything about Magic The Gathering either, but I have been doing a lot of research over the past few days. They are really amazing figures & I will be buying them for sure.

The second Game of Thrones set is also really cool looking. I've only seen the first several episodes, so I didn't even realise how many of the figures were female!

I hope these sets do well for Funko. They certainly spit in the face of the whole 'girls don't sell' thing.

    1. I was on the fence about the ReAction figures until I saw them all on display at the show. They're really cool. I hope they get some licenses like Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. Can't wait for the MtG ladies.

You need to watch more GOT. There are so many intense female characters in that show. Someof of the best characters probably won't even get made because they aren't really "adventurous" characters, more like the devious whispering types. Seriously though, you gotta watch the show.. I can think of 10 amazing ladies right off the top of my head.

Funko definitely respects the ladies, at least in Legacy and ReAction (POP could use some more)
