Marvel Titan Hero Series - SPIDER-GWEN!

Spider-Man Into the SpiderVerse - 12" Spider-Gwen - Wal-Mart Exc - Hasbro 2018

I have to start off with a huge shout out to my Instagram friend Dean (xii22loop) for helping me get this figure. I'm totally smitten over her and I probably couldn't have gotten her any other way. I owe you! As popular as 12" figures are becoming over the past few years, the distribution is erratic. I missed out on the 2011 Cheetara (from Brazil), the Halo Spartan Vale, and even the recent Enfys Nest. All of which are still on my grail list. So when I discovered this Spider-Gwen and read that she's apparently a Canadian Walmart exclusive, I didn't waste any time trying to procure her. She looks really good. There often isn't a lot QC scrutiny given to kid's products (like Titans), and I feared the scale of the head would be mismatched with the re-purposed Spider-Girl body (like the standard release Black Widow Titan last year). But she looks great and now I want a Silk and Jessica Drew (for the upcoming Spider-Women movie perhaps?) I can hope. Let's check out the Titan Hero Series Spider-Gwen below!

To further the likelihood that Gwen won't be coming to the US anytime soon, the packaging details say "Hasbro Canada."

Although the packaging is branded with the Into the Spider-Verse movie graphics, Gwen's design seems more based off the comic style. This is most notable with her shoes. In the movie she has ballerina-esque ankle ribbons (as seen on the box above).

The PowerFx port on her back allows unique sound effects to be played when a backpack is plugged into her back. The only backpack I own is from the Infinity War Black Widow.  The noise from Gwen doesn't include any voices like most characters. Rather she just has random web-slinging sound effects. I wonder if a newer backpack (like maybe one with a future Captain Marvel Titan) would have updated sounds?

This figure has the standard Titan articulation. It's a shame that they don't have elbow and knee joints yet like the DC figures. (FYI the DC figures are generally cheaper too).

Time for a Comparison Pic!

Here is Gwen with last years's Anya Corazon Spider-Girl. They share the same body.

Cheers!
