Transformers Siege - GREENLIGHT!

Transformers - War for Cybertron: Siege - Greenlight & Dazzlestrike - Hasbro 2019

For those not in the know, there was an iconic episode from the 2nd season of Transformers in 1985 called The Search for Alpha Trion that introduced female Autobots. As a young kid (in 2nd grade!), I was obsessed with this episode. And even the instant mythology of these characters thrilled me (apparently female autobots were thought to be extinct). We were introduced to Elita One, Moonracer, Chromia, Firestar, and two unnamed silent characters who we now know as Lancer and Greenlight. These ladies pre-date Arcee by almost a year. I have trouble putting into words how excited I am that we are getting toys of these obscure characters (that are inexplicably branded into my psyche). Seriously though, they appeared in a single 23-minute episode 34 years ago and only had a few seconds of screentime each. I never ever ever expected to add these to my collection. Someone at TakaraTomy is looking out for me. I can't wait for the inevitable Lancer to fill out the ranks! Let's check out Greenlight below!

Greenlight's face is interesting. The first of these modern deluxe-scale fembots, Moonracer, set the bar high with an absolutely perfect face sculpt. Greenlight has a mouth that looks too close to her nose. It might be a paint application problem, but it also might be the sculpt underneath. The saving grace is that these heads are so small that you can't see any flaws unless you're really looking.

Greenlight comes with Prime Armor. The piece is essentially a chunky piece of kibble. It's intended to mount on the front of her torso and totally obscure her sculpt. But the true purpose is to form either a right or left hand for her arm combiner mode.

Dazzlestrike is a small transforming lion with a blaster mounted on his back. He transforms into a sword for Greenlight and includes a flaming attachment that makes it a super dynamic-looking accessory. Note: Dazzlestrike's name is spelled "Dazlestrike" on the front of the packaging, but on the back of the packaging and in the instructions, he has two "z"s.

Greenlight has the same vehicle mode as Moonracer and Novastar. It's a pretty cool looking Cybertronian racer. This is also basically the same form for either the arm or leg of the combiner mode.

And with the Prime Armor attached to the back.

As much as I love this Greenlight figure, I have a hunch that her release means we will never see the other green female Autobot, Beta. I love her crossbow.

Time for some Group and Comparison Pics!

Here are the three ladies that share the same body: Moonracer, Greenlight, and Novastar.

And with Siege Chromia and Generations Arcee (to complete the rainbow).

And of course another shot with the matriarch, Elita One.
