DC Comics Super-Villains SUPERWOMAN!

DC Comics Super-Villains - Crime Syndicate Superwoman - DC Collectibles 2014

Has everyone been noticing the amazing year DC Collectibles has planned for us?  Just a few short years ago fans were fine-tuning their eulogies for the demise of DC Direct action figures.  I'll admit that I was believing the naysayers as well.  Sure, there were still plenty of statues and video game figures, but the previous decade of amazingly varied comic figures definitely seemed to be coming to an end.  But now 2014 seems to be the year of rebirth and I am going to be positively broke.  The sculpt and articulation of these new figures is better than ever.  This version of Superwoman is basically the evil Wonder Woman (from Earth-3).  I haven't been reading the recent Trinity War or Forever Evil storylines where I know she plays an important role, but I've always been a fan of this character (and of all evil doppelgangers in general).  The figure is beautiful, well-articulated, and easily the coolest Superwoman in my collection.  Let's check out this other-dimensional vixen in detail below!

I think the sculpt by Gentle Giant Studios is stunning.  She doesn't look over-sexified or overly sinister, but she definitely still captured that wicked quality that I love.

Superwoman comes with no accessories aside from a removable soft rubber cape.

Her articulation is amazing.  DC Collectibles has really won me over in the articulation department lately.  The older DC Direct figures would always have too few joints and look a little stiff, but the sculpts were always top notch.  Then on the other hand, Mattel figures seemed a little too articulated and made for sloppy looking figures.  These current DC Collectibles figures are the perfect blend of the two extremes.

Time for some Comparison Pics!

Here she is with Mattel's DCUC figure from 2011.

And here she is with the DC Collectibles New 52 Wonder Woman figure from 2012.

And there's the whole group!
You can check them all out individually in this Superwoman Character Spotlight that I did last year.

Cheers!

    1. No, I'm not James, but I do follow his She-Ra and He-Man blog! You can credit me as Alex @ shesfantastic.com or Molarlion which is my username on all the geeky message boards. Thanks for giving me props!

    2. Happy to give credit where credit is due. Your blog is really well thought out and informative. Your pics are too good not to be shared. Pinterest is a good resource for networking but it is often misused. Pinners often cut and paste other people hard work onto their Pinboards without crediting the owner nor linking the pin to it's origin. This obviously erks me. I'll save that rant for my new blog. I'll make sure to update the pin of Superwoman and Wonder Woman. Stay Awesome

    1. Haha thanks. Somehow I doubt I will go viral, but that would be awesome. Speaking of viral, some friends of mind just went viral with their CatBand meme:: http://www.today.com/pets/cool-cats-laid-back-felines-star-catband-music-videos-1D79545187 I feel famous by association!

  7. Quick question for you. A friend of mine was wondering how the scale of this figure compares to MOTUC females like Adora. I have not been able to find her yet, so I thought I would ask here :)

    1. I just added a few pics of her with Adora. They are very very close in scale. To my eye the only real distinction is in the arms. The DCC figure has longer shoulders, which then throws off the biceps and forearms. But the overall height, articulation, and headsizes are very similar. Enjoy!

    1. hah! You know I never noticed, but you're totally right, the pupils on my figure are completely cockeyed. I guess that's something else to watch out for when picking one up in a store.
