Batman Missions HARLEY QUINN!

Batman Missions - Basic Series 01 - Harley Quinn (Rebirth) - Mattel 2018

I've never found myself too excited about the various Batman evergreen series over the years. Mostly because they just seemed like endless repaints, limited articulation, oversized accessories, and a complete lack of female characters. But this new Batman Missions series (sometimes referred to as Knight Missions) seems to remedy all those previous gripes of mine. The first female in the line is a 6" Harley Quinn in the style of Amanda Conner's Rebirth Harley (which is a great blend of comic and Suicide Squad movie looks). The first wave has a few Batman repaints as is expected, but the repaints aren't absurd. But what's more impressive are the other 6" characters on the horizon like a Killing Joke Joker, Robin, Bane, Nightwing, and Batgirl. And that's not even mentioning the equally impressive 12" lineup whose Batgirl I'm dying to get my hands on. Hopefully this line will continue to impress me. It's one of the things I'm most looking forward to hearing about at SDCC. Let's check out Harley Quinn below!

You can see that along the left side of the card front it says "Batman Missions." However, all the packaged examples shown at NYTF 2018 said "Knight Missions" in the same place. I'm curious to see how future figures will be labelled (it's possible my Amazon-bought figure is just packaged for a foreign market and hence has a different name).

Note that there is a 6" Multiverse figure of Harley coming out in this same design. The multiverse version will have exposed upper thighs, more detailed accessories, and better articulation. I'm curious to see if it will have the exact same head. It appears almost identical and the upcoming Missions Batgirl looks to have the same head as the previous Multiverse Batgirl.

As is typical with modern basic figures lately, Harley has great upper body articulation with wrists, elbows, shoulders, waist, and neck. However her lower body has only hinge knees and a t-crotch.

Here is a ToyFair image of the 6" Multiverse Harley (Supposedly a Walmart Exclusive for Fall 2018). You can see the basic design is very similar.

Time for some Group and Comparison Pics!

Here she is with a group of semi-recent Harley figures. From Left to Right: DCC Icons, DCC Designer Series Amanda Conner, Mattel Batman Missions, DCC New52 Roller Harley, DCC BTAS Harley.

Cheers!

  1. Great review (as usual)! I can't locate her at all for sale online. She is unavailable via Amazon, and only shows up in foreign auctions on eBay. Any tips for acquisition? Cheers!

  2. She's a very cool figure! I picked mine up a few weeks ago off Amazon, too, and I was wondering the same thing considering the Knight Missions vs. Batman Missions moniker. I'm more excited for the Multiverse Harley but this one is great, too. I can never have enough Harleys.

  3. I'm hoping that Multiverse figure won't be too hard to get, especially online. It's a great design!

  4. This is such a great figure for the price point. I really like the Robin from this line too.
