Marvel Legends - PEPPER POTTS RESCUE!

Marvel The Infinity Saga - Avengers: Endgame – Rescue Armor - Hasbro 2021

Back in 2013 the collector world was teased with images of a Pepper Potts Rescue figure (with an unmasked head) as part of the third wave of Marvel Legends figures for Iron Man 3. This wave was cancelled and I was very upset about it. I had goals at the time of assembling an all-female Avengers lineup. And I honestly thought Rescue and American Dream were extremely unlikely to ever be made. But then three years later in 2016, the cancelled Rescue figure was made available as a Marvel Unlimited subscription exclusive. I was thrilled. But many collectors were not since this new version did not include the alternate unmasked head. When the Gweneth head was released with the odd shoeless sports bra figure, I saw a lot of kitbashes trying to fit it on the original Endgame figure (they never looked right). But finally this new Infinity Saga 2-pack gave us multiple Pepper heads. Unfortunately the head I was looking forward to most (the raised visor) is plagued with a horrible paint job. You can't win them all.

Rescue comes with three heads, a "folded-in" backpack, and unfolded backpack with airbrakes deployed, two displacer attachments (with three working hinges on each), and two blaster effects that can be pegged into her feet. The raised visor head is unfortunate. It seems to be plagued by paint problems. She has black eyes and a lizard mouth, and all the in-person pics I've seen on ebay appear to match my paint.

Here is Rescue with her back unadorned.

And with her folded-in backpack attached.

With the airbrakes deployed. (This is the second backpack with the "wings" sculpted out).

And with the thrusters deployed.
These are the small darker-gray pieces that are hinged at the shoulderblades underneath the open airbrakes.

And finally with the Displacers attached.
To attach these you need to pop off the two small thruster pieces and use their hinge-holes.

This head only looks good from the side. I need to give it a total repaint.

Time for some Group and Comparison Pics!

Here she is with the 2019 Hulk Series Rescue (on the Left). The 2019 version is a lighter blue, has a different hues of "silver" and the eyes and chest reactor triangle are light blue, as opposed to the new version which is white.

And here is Rescue with the pack-mate, Captain Marvel.

Cheers!

  1. Great figure, but yes, the visor up head paint apps make her look like a meth addict.
