Sonic the Hedgehog - AMY ROSE!

Sonic the Hedgehog 4" Series -  Amy Rose w/ Hammer - Jakks Pacific 2021

Although I don't play any video games now as an adult, I spent a huge portion of my youth glued to my game consoles. The majority of this was Nintendo and the only Sega exposure I had was my handheld Game Gear, to which I owned three games: Lemmings, Ecco the Dolphin, and Sonic the Hedgehog (in retrospect, despite years of karate training and sibling roughhousing, I realize I was an adolescent pacifist and eschewed any violent games). Sonic was so fun and fast, even on a tiny screen it was mesmerizing. I'm pretty sure Sonic himself was the only playable character in my version, but Tails was already on my radar and Knuckles arrived shortly after. However, it wasn't until I was an adult collector getting into the Jazwares Sonic toys that I discovered Amy Rose, the primary female character in the franchise. She embodies all the cute stylized designs I love about the Sonic Universe and fits seamlessly into my female-focused collection. Let's check out this newest Amy Rose below!

Time for some Group and Comparison Pics!

Here are all my Amy's together:   2010 Comic Pack Amy (Jazwares), 2010 Modern Amy (Jazwares), 2021 Sonic 30th Anniversary (Jakks), 2000 Sonic Adventure (ReSaurus), and 2014 Sonic Boom (Tomy).

Cheers!

  1. This is a really good figure!

Also I don't know if you've heard, but there's also gonna be a Jakks Pacific figures of Rouge the Bat (4") and Classic Amy (2.5" but goes accurately with the 4" Modern figures) coming next year too!

So hopefully this means they'll be doing Blaze soon (and maybe even a Cream).

    1. Yes, I'm very excited for the Rouge figure as well as the classic Amy. There are so many cool characters that could be made into toys and it's a shame we mostly see re-hashes of the same core characters over and over. Rouge is a very good sign for this current line.

  2. I'm so confused "how" these figure waves are released. The Wal-Mart here JUST started getting this figure line in, and it's THIS wave, here, in February 2023, while your review is from 2021... So odd... ...I'm not complaining, mind you.

    1. Amy was originally released in Sept 2021 in Wave 6, but she was also included in Wave 10 from late 2022. I don't think Walmart was carrying this line at all back in 2021, only Target. They typically seem to have two new figures per waves, and two re-released characters, so we'll likely see her again someday. FYI Cream the Rabbit is listed as being in Wave 13 later this year. No pics yet.
