Jurassic World Dominion - KAYLA WATTS!

Jurassic World: Dominion - Kayla Watts & Pyroraptor 2-Pack - Mattel 2022

I really enjoyed Jurassic World: Dominion. I think the franchise has gotten to the point where every viewer has their own specific recipe of expectations for these films that are impossible to live up to. I have several diehard Jurassic fans in my life and they were all highly disappointed, but I was happy. I thought the energy good, the story was engaging, there was a great variety of dinosaurs, and none of the actors (except for Chris Pratt imo) were annoying. That sounds like a successful Summer blockbuster to me. My favorite of the new characters was Kayla Watts. she is an ex-Air Force pilot who now specializes in dino transport. She doesn't have strong allegiances initially but gets pulled into helping Owen, Claire, and Maisie. I recently read that her character was inspired by Han Solo, Indiana Jones, and Sarah Harding - and that totally makes sense and explains the appeal. I wouldn't hate it if she was the lead character in the next movie. She certainly has the screen presence to pull it off. Let's check out Kayla below!

Kayla's only accessory is the dino-tazing stick they zap the Pyroraptors with.

The Pyroraptors were my favorite of the new dinos featured in Dominion.
They were seek and scary, and that ice swimming was awesome.

Time for some Group and Comparison Pics!

The Jurassic line has been experiencing some unfortunate scale diversity lately.
Here she is with the recent Sarah Harding figure. The rest of my Jurassic figures were inaccessible when I photographed Kayla. But I will be taking a large group photo with the new Maisie and Ellie in the next few weeks and will add it here.

Cheers!

  1. Your sits is excellent. I spend a lot of time cultivating a collection of African American 1:18 scale female figures for my daughter, which is challenging. Heck, I've even resorted to making my own. Your site has been such a big help, I really appreciate the work you put into it. Thank you!

    1. Glad you're enjoying it! When I first started all this over ten years ago I was really dedicated to having different themed months and the first one of the first themes I did was for Black History Month. Because of that, I have a tag for "BHM" every time I post on a black or African American character (http://www.shesfantastic.com/search/label/BHM). There's also a tag for 1:18 scales figures. My goal is to have this whole site be searchable like a database. The Amari figure at Dollar Tree right now would be an easy find if you don't have her already.
