TOY FAIR 2013 Coverage - PRESS PHOTOS!

Mattel - Hasbro - DC Collectibles

Before I begin this final Toy Fair '13  gallery of mine, I would like to take a moment to share a frustrating aspect of my first Toy Fair visit.  First of all, my application for a Blogger/Press Pass was accepted very last minute so I was scrambling around like crazy to prepare for the trip.  When I got there, I was surprised that most of the large companies (Hasbro, Mattel, BanDai, MGA, Safari, PlayMobil, LEGO, etc) had closed-off booths.  Having only ever been to ComicCons before, I was unprepared to see large walled-off structures on the showroom floor, complete with security guards and receptionists.  I approached one tentatively and asked if I could enter, showing my badge.  They asked if I had a reservation.  I said no and asked how I can make a reservation.  The said they didn't know (none of the people manning the booths seemed to have much helpful information, just a set of rules to abide), but said that most people make their reservations weeks before the show.  I was a little defeated.  And I definitely learned a lesson for next year.  All-in-all, it wasn't a terrible thing that I missed out on seeing the big brands, because those are the companies that release tons of press photos like I will show below.  Anyway, rant over.  Enjoy all the new lady reveals!
Mattel
MOTUC - SHAKOTI
This is an amazing character and figure.  She is the one of the first figures of the new Filmation subscription service open now at Mattycollector.com

MOTUC - CASTASPELLA

Another beautiful POP figure.  I am amazed at how awesome this line is.

DCU - HUNTRESS

She looks great!  I only fear she'll end up with major quality issues like Poison Ivy

DCU - FIRE

A great choice for a figure, although I'm really not a fan of the hair.

Hasbro

MARVEL UNIVERSE - VALKYRIE

MARVEL UNIVERSE - EMMA FROST

MARVEL UNIVERSE - DAGGER

MARVEL UNIVERSE - ELEKTRA

MARVEL LEGENDS - EMMA FROST

Her body is way too skinny.  I hope we get a cloak as a last-minute add-on.  I can't believe we're getting these characters before the new Moonstone body comes out.

MARVEL LEGENDS - ROGUE

MARVEL LEGENDS - JEAN GREY (1990's)
All of these Jeans are lackign somethign in my eyes.  I'll reserve judgement until I see the final product.

MARVEL LEGENDS - JEAN GREY (WHITE PHOENIX)

MARVEL LEGENDS - JEAN GREY (AGE OF APOCALYPSE)

MARVEL LEGENDS - RED SHE-HULK

KRE-O GI JOE - SCARLETT, JINX, and BARONESS

Can't WAIT for that Baroness.  I think she comes in a big playset with a HISS tank.

KRE-O STAR TREK - UHURA

KRE-O TRANSFORMERS MICRO-CHANGERS - ARCEE

Yesssssss!

GI JOE MICRO FORCE - LADY JAYE

DC Collectibles
DC Collectibles had a completely open booth and was my favorite experience of the entire Toy Fair.  Everyone was really nice, knowledgeable, and approachable.  I'm adding these solicit pics simply because they are better than the ones I took!
KATANA

INJUSTICE 3.75" HARLEY QUINN

Cheers!

  1. Shokoti & Castaspella are both fantastic. Really can't wait for them to arrive. Shield Maiden Sherrlyn should be coming out soon.

I agree with you about the ML 6" ladies. I was seriously burned with Madame Hydra. Fingers crossed the final figures come out looking like the proto's.

Didn't sign up for DCIE this year, but I'll try & get Huntress & Fire. Both are very nice looking.

Ooohhh, hadn't seen the micro-changers Arcee! Might have to get her to add to my G1 Arcee collection.

Steering clear of the GI Joe Kre-O's. They do look cool, but I can't afford to go down that path! Might get the Star Trek Kre-O's though.

The 4" DC line is also tempting...must resist!!

    1. I'm not subscibed to anything yet either (debating over filmation, which I'll probably do since it's only 6 figs and we're extremely likely to see another female - *fingers crossed for Scorpia*). I'll get the Kre-Os as long as the codes are readily available. I don't waste money on blindpacks when there's so much out there I would love to hoard if I had the cash. The ML body is seriously overused at this point. I'm dying to see Moonstone, The glimpse we saw at SDCC reminds me of MOTUC ladies, which would be amazing.

  2. Damn, why can't I get Katana by herself? I already have Wundy- she's a beauty, but I don't need 2. Is that Legends Rogue awesome or what?!

    1. Oh, and just today there was a DC Collectibles solicit for a Superman-Batman-Wonder Woman threepack... she's got the same body but a new (amazing) face.. grrr!

The Rogue looks pretty good but I hope her face doesn't look so odd in the final product.

    2. I've got to find Huntress & Fire, too- love those girls! And MU Valkyrie... if we ever run into each other in the toy aisle, you're mine ;)

    3. You heard that Huntress and Fire were re-announced as Club Infinite Earth figures right? They'll never be on the shelves, but you should be able to order them from Mattycollector on 7/15/13 (Although I'm sure that date is subject to change). Plus Valkyrie is coming in an Asgardian 3-Pack with Thor and Skurge.. hope you're prepared to take them home too :)
