Imaginext New52 WONDER WOMAN!

Justice League Imaginext - Wonder Woman & Her Invisible Jet - Fisher-Price 2013

It's amazing that the only two larger-scale Invisible Jets that have been put on the market have been made by Fisher-Price.  This Target exclusive set is part of a fantastic new wave of DC Imaginext figures.  Without much advanced warning, we suddenly have a Red Tornado, Green Arrow, Darkseid, and Gorilla Grodd to add to our DC rosters.  I can't wait for more females.  And the best part is that I have no doubt we will see more.  I'm guessing Hawkgirl, Batgirl, and Supergirl are on the horizon.  And hopefully Poison Ivy, Huntress, Cheetah, and others will follow.  This repaint of Wonder Woman in her New52 colors is not really a surprise figure to me.  As soon as we got the classic colors this past winter, I just knew this variant had to be in the pipeline.  But the jet is a very unexpected addition.  I'm honestly shocked that they just didn't re-use one of the many existing vehicle molds.  A simple redeco of Mr. Freeze's jet would not have garnered many complaints I don't think.  But I digress.  Let's check her out below!

The Invisible Jet has a gun-like design with a handlegrip and a trigger.  The wings can fold up and when you pull the trigger, the yellow fan rotor on the rear of the plane spins and the wings automatically fold down.

Wonder Woman comes with a newly-sculpted lasso that fits into a projectile launcher under the cockpit.  There is a separate black trigger to release the lasso.

She can also hold the lasso, but the stiff design looks odd in her hands.

Wonder Woman fits into the cockpit well.  I didn't try to see if other size figures can fit in there too, but I imagine Infinite Heroes figures would work.

Time for some Comparison and Group shots!

Cheers!

  3. Just this week I put several Imaginext DC sets on lay-by for my nephew. They are such awesome little toys! I mainly bought him Batman related stuff, so I would LOVE to see Poison Ivy & Batgirl added.

The Wonder Woman is a nice sculpt. I prefer the colours of the regular release, but if I buy her for my nephew I will likely buy the version with the jet.

The jet itself is very cool looking too. The vehicles in this line are a lot of fun. It's great that we have a Gordon with police car.

    1. I could actually start buying these for my nephews as well. They were really into the DC Little People... obsessed is a better word. But now I think they're about ready to upgrade to Imaginext. I'm getting excited about all the purchases I now have an excuse to make :)
