Marvel Legends Infinite Series - BLACK WIDOW!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier - Series 02 - Hasbro 2014

Whew I thought I would never get my hands on this figure.  Between being an absolutely gorgeous rendition of Scarlett Johansson, a short-packed female, and the placeholder for the Mandroid build-a-figure torso, this Black Widow has become quite the holy grail for Marvel collectors lately.  All props go to my new geek-buddy Carl who snagged me an extra (the best part was the clandestine toy swap out of the trunk of a car in the grocery store parking lot!)  This figure is everything she's cracked up to be.  Utterly gorgeous headsculpts, great articulation, and amazing detailing on the costume.  I haven't seen the movie yet so I can't speak to accuracy, but I have a hunch she's spot-on.  The only minor let-down is her lack of personal accessories (i.e. guns).  She has extra hands with gun-gripping poses, but no guns aside from those sculpted into her holsters.  Although I will gladly sacrifice all future weapons for alternate heads like Black Widow comes with.  They are equally fantastic and I'm tempted to hunt down another figure just to display them both.  Let's check Black Widow out below!

The headsculpt is perfect from every angle.  I'm assuming it's a 3-D scan, but even so it's one of the nicest scans I've seen.

The Marvel Legends Infinite Series - Captain America: The Winter Soldier line is a Build-a-Figure series with each figure containing a piece on the deluxe Mandroid figure.  Black Widow comes with the torso and shoulder gun.

Black Widow comes with two heads and two sets of hands.

Her articulation and poseability is awesome!

Time for some Comparison Shots!

Here she is with the DC Collectibles Superwoman that I reviewed last week.

Cheers!

  1. She looks incredible! I'll pick her up if I ever see her, but I don't expect I will unless Hasbro pops out a better case-pack ratio soon.

    1. My comic shop got them in stock today but was charging $40 for her. I hate when local stores apply ebay prices like that. I can handle paying a few extra bucks for something rare, but $40 in a store is just too much. I think she'll become a lot more common soon.

  2. I actually pulled the guns off her leg and trimmed off the weird straps. They fit PERFECTLY in her hands and you can just stick them back into the legs when you don't want her to be holding them. I know it ruins the mint quality of the figure--but OH SO MUCH fun to play with now!

    1. That's AMAZING! Do the holsters still look like they're connected when the guns are back on her legs? I was thinking I would just dig some extra guns out from previous ML figures, but you're idea is pretty tempting!

  3. I am pleased with how it looks. She's much more fun with her guns! The straps are molded with the gun, so I cut them off with kitchen shears. The guns pull off the legs very easily. The gun has a square piece on the side facing her leg. Her leg has a square opening where the gun peg fits into. It is definitely not perfect if you are into aesthetics, but it's great for me and posing and play! When you put the guns back into her leg, they stay very well. Try it on one leg--pop a gun off. See if you like it, if you don't glue it back on with a dot of superglue. Good luck!

    1. She was repainted and released as part of the Amazon-Exclusive Avengers boxset. She should be a little easier to find now that there are more of her out there.
