A Small Collection of My Favorite Action Figure Reveals at NY ComicCon 2014

If I was to be perfectly honest, I would have to say that this year's New York ComicCon was the most disappointing toy-wise than it has been in a long long time.  There was a lack of vendors.  Mattel was absent; Hasbro is continuing the tradition of setting up shop several blocks away (and by appointment only); and DCC showed us nothing new.  And on top of that, my favorite small vendor seemed to be a no-show as well.  This is a booth that usually has tons of large bins of loose action figures in little baggies.  You have to be patient to get close enough because this booth magically turns everyone into kids digging for buried treasure.  I always look forward to spending a good hour there, and I was sad that I couldn't find it (although it may have been there for all I know.. I was an unplanned mess this year tbh).  Despite my overall disappointment on the toy front, I still enjoyed myself and found a few great gems to share.  Let's check them out below!

  1. Thanks for the wrap around! My wants are Jemma from SOA (even if I haven't seeing the series, yet), but she looks like the actor. Destiny in mini mates is sweet, wish they have never killed her in the comics. The Bijousho She-hulk is awesome. I only have three cause those prices kill me, plus I don't reaally collect statues (thou I have a few). Valkyrie and Shanna look good, but they could have brought the house down with a Polaris or Monica Rambeau (maybe next summer). And as I am finishing my female MOTU/POP figure I will be needing that Angella.
Disappointed in Carol's likenesses (only Michonne looks like the actor), and that Aphrodite A looks super cheap. But I guess after the Soul Of Chogokin series, they all do. Don't know why they bother. They would be better off doing the villains of Mazinger Z which have very few, if any, representations. Anyhow, thanks again.

    1. I was really excited to see that Destiny minimate. It's amazing how she's finally getting merchandised postmortem. Carol is a little funky. But Andrea and Maggie were the same way and I stilllike them in person. Sometimes it just takes the right lighting to make the likeness solidify. Photon would be awesome! Polaris and Firestar are among my most wanted Marvel females. Hellcat was always up there, too, but that upcoming ML figure satisfies my craving for her in a big way. Yeah the Mazinger stuff looks a little wonky. The SOC figures are indeed perfection. Even the Popy figures seem better executed. I may still get her if I can find her cheap though.

  2. So excited for Hellcat. Love the 70's Defenders. Son of Satan, Nighthawk, Gargoyle and Red Guardian II would be a dream.

    1. Yeah the hellcat really makes me want to beef up my hellcat collection. I at least want to get that eaglemoss figurine. I never thought about Red Guardian II. She would be great! And I would totally get Damian just to hang out with Hellcat and Satanna
