WWE Elite - Class of 2013 - TRISH STRATUS!

WWE Elite - Hall of Fame - Class of 2013 - Target Exc Trish Stratus - Mattel 2014

2014 was a quite a year for re-released characters in Mattel's WWE line.  Of the handful of female wrestling figures we get in an average year, this year had repeat figures of Vickie Guerrero, Natalya, Amy Lee, Alicia Fox, and now Trish Stratus.  I usually avoid these because they are typically simple redecos of the original figures.  But this year most of these figures were different enough to convince me to take the plunge.  This Trish Stratus figure has the same head as her 2013 figure, but the change in hair color and more streamlined outfit made her look like an improved figure to me.  Still, I'd much prefer some brand new figures in 2015 (in addition to the Paige and Emma figures we're already slated to get).  Trish is now retired after 7 years in the WWE during which time she was named Babe of the Year three times, WWE Hardcore Champion and Diva of the Decade.  She also won seven WWE Women's Championships, the most in WWE history.  Let's check out Trish (version 2) below!

The female figures in the WWE Elite lines are a bit of a rip-off.  They cost roughly double what a regular figure goes for with the only difference being bulkier packaging and a championship belt.

Time for some Group and Comparison Shots!

Here she is with 2013's Trish Stratus.

Cheers!

  1. Summer Rae, Stephanie McMahon, and Lana were all officially yesterday. I'm still waiting for HOF Trish to make it down to Florida. I'll pick up Austin as well, but I've never been a big Sarge or Warrior fan.

    1. Those are some very exciting figures. And for once I thought I was all up-to-date on my WWE girls :) I hope we get a glimpse of them at Toy Fair!

  2. Hey my name is James and I love this blog. I am also whatever the male word for feminist is and I have browsed your reviews for hours. It's very nice having all of the females reviewed in one place and you're doing a great job. Do you have an email address I could reach you at? There is a particular line of figures that I would really love you to review and I want to give you the first one as a token of my gratitude. I know you will be hooked once you have it. Let me know, thanks!

    1. I'm very intrigued! You can write me at molarlion@gmail.com. Glad you like my blog! My site traffic has dropped off a bit because some of my site-linking tools went away. I need to dedicate and afternoon to figuring out some new gadgets, but in the meantime I still seem to be attracting a decent amount of new readers just through plain old google. Glad to have you on board! :)

  3. Really nice figure. She looks much better without the heavy blue eyeshadow.

As Xavion2004 said above, a few Divas announced the other day. Very happy to know Summer Rae will finally be added to our shelves.

Not as happy to read today that Awesome Kong is back in TNA Impact. I would love a figure of her, but Jakks really aren't that interested in making the wrestling figures anymore. I think they are just waiting till the license runs out at the end of 2015, possibly making 1 or 2 more sets, but seemingly not making any new people as they don't want to spend money on new heads. I was hoping Kong would get back to WWE so Mattel could make her.

    1. Yeah the eyeshadow and that weird blond streak on her forehead were rather unsightly. This brunette version is a great improvement.

I've noticed that the Impact figures has really dwindled lately. That last skirted Velvet I saw looked so awkward, too. It's like they were trying to pump out a few more figures with minimal effort. Jakks also dropped the ball with the little 3.75" Winx action figures that I really enjoyed.

  4. I was just flipping through the channels and found a Spanish language channel showing 'Lucha Underground.' On it was a female Luchador (Luchadora?) named of all things 'Sexy Star' and she was dressed as Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers.)

Not only that, but she was wrestling the dudes!

Now That's a female wrestler SOMEONE has got to make an action figure out of! Although I am pretty sure Mattel would shy away from making a toy of someone named 'Sexy Star.'

    1. That's amazing! I haven't seen cross-gender wrestling like that since GLOW!

    2. Yup, it was pretty cool. I'm going to try to start following the program, hopefully she shows up more. Maybe I'll also learn some Spanish in the process!

  5. Nice pics! You should add a shot of the deco on her back, under her hair.
