DC Super Friends Imaginext BATGIRL!

Imaginext DC Super Friends - Batgirl & Cycle - Mattel / Fisher-Price 2016

Since the DC Super Friends Imaginext figures started coming out (back in 2012?), I think that Batgirl has been one of the most requested characters, She seemed like a given considering the demand for female characters and the clear Batman-family branding. But year after year she was missing from the lineup. Then right before Toy Fair this year, pictures of this figure showed up on Kmart.com and sent all Imaginext collectors into a tizzy. The hunt was on. In my area, the department store Kohls has been the first to start carrying her, but I'm sure she'll show up everywhere eventually. This Batgirl is featured in her most current "Batgirl of Burnside" costume with an awesome Batcycle accessory. Although I love this figure, I'm a little surprised they didn't go with a classic costume like the previous DC ladies have. I'm sure we'll see some reapints eventually (especially considering the new DC Super Friends blind bag series), but for now, let's check out Batgirl and her Cycle below!

Her bike is pretty awesome. I tried to figure out if it has been re-used from a previous Batman or Robin accessory, but all their various bikes I could find are distinctly different.  The bat logo on the front of the bike is a projectile. (Which is launched by pressing the gray button by her left foot... so be careful because I shot myself in the face twice while trying to get her on the cycle properly).

Time for some Comparison Pics!

Here she is with Catwoman and her Cat-cycle from 2012.

And with the rest of the DC ladies so far (excluding a couple paint variants).

Cheers!

  1. I really need this one! No sign of her at any of my local haunts, including dumb old Kohls. And yes, the bike is definitely unique to Batgirl and a brand new release.

    1. That's awesome that they made a new bike for her. I feel like they could have gotten away with reusing an old one, but I'm sure glad they didn't. Good luck on the hunt. If I find an extra I'll let you know.

  2. At last!! Been waiting so long for her to come out, we'll probably get her in the UK by Christmas based on past Imaginext shipping delays!

    1. But you guys have those awesome blind bags that no one seems to be getting! I'm actually trying to hunt down a second Batgirl just for trading purposes

    2. The blind bags aren't bad, but only one female so far and it's just the black version of Catwoman repainted in her purple 90's catsuit. They didn't even bother with a new head so you still have all the goggle sculpting underneath.

  3. Thanks for sharing where you found her! Ever since K-Mart posted it online, I've searched the Internet to discover where people were finding her, but no one revealed it until now. I love your blog, and thank you for this review--I'll be off to Kohl's tomorrow! - DMN

    1. Good luck! I went to like a dozen different Kohls before I found her. There's a good facebook group called Imaginext Generation where everyone shares locations. Turns out my area (Philadelphia region) is loaded with collectors so it was a big help tracking her down.

    2. Thanks! I went to my local Kohl's (Northeast Ohio) and they had the Bat-mobile (from this wave), but no other figures--so at least I know they carry it. I'll check out the FB site, too.

  4. I need to find a batgirl to complete my son's bat-family collection. He's only one and does not appreciate this yet, but when he gets to the right age...I become the coolest dad in history (I sure hope he likes Superheroes...) any ideas for Rochester, NY?

    1. Man I wish my parents had forethought when it came to my childhood toys. All I got were hand-me-downs and random odd and ends. Your son will love his bat family I'm sure (in the meantime there's the DC Little People for him to knaw on!).

I'm pretty sure the only place she's been found so far is at Kohl's. From what I've personally seen, it seems as if each store will only get one at a time in (along with the new flash and batmobile). But I still think Kohl's is your best bet.. it just takes some patience. In the past (years ago) I had good luck finding Imaginext at Wegmans as well. But a few years ago my local stores stopped carrying them. I thought I heard that the big flagship Wegmans was in the Rochester area though? It might be worth a look if Kohls doesn't pan out. Good luck!
