Star Wars - PRINCESS LEIA (ENDOR)!

Star Wars: The Black Series 6" - Princess Leia Organa (Endor) - Hasbro 2020

My favorite of the original Star Wars movies is Return of the Jedi. It was one of the first movies I saw in the theatre and I became absolutely obsessed with ewoks. It actually started when choosing toys at Kay-Bee. My mom would say we could each pick one "Star Wars guy" (or a matchbox). We lived deep in the woods and I was a nature and animal fanatic, so Ewoks were a predictable choice for me. And of all the Star Wars movies, the forest moon of Endor had the most relatable setting to me. Imagine idolizing characters for two movies, then finally seeing them in an environment that looked like your backyard. It made me feel connected. And my jealousy when Leia first met Wicket was palpable. I was the weird kid who dreamt of discovering his very own bigfoot, mokele-mbembe, or E.T. in my woods. But I digress. I've been waiting for this version of Leia since the Black Series began. It's not the most glamourous or memorable look, but it is definitely the most nostalgic for me. Let's check her out below!

Leia comes with a blaster gun, a removable poncho, a removable helmet, and a belt with holster.

Underneath the accessories she sports an entirely different look.
It you like displaying variations of Leia, it's a good idea to get two of her (or be like me and just keep the version coming in the Endor multipack).
Note that she needs to wear the belt with this outfit, otherwise there is a smooth gap in the waistline with no sculpted details (it's essentially a groove in which the belt sits, and it looks bas exposed).

As much as I love the Black Series Teebo (and upcoming Paploo), I always think Ewok toys are never in the right scale. The Vintage 3.75" Ewoks look really bizarrely large next to the 3.75" humans, and same with the 6" Ewoks with Black Series humans. But I really think the 3.75" Ewoks fit well with 6" humans.

Time for a Comparison Pic!

Cheers!

  1. This might be the best Leia in the Black Series yet. She really is incredible and I would easily pick up a second to get another look for her on the shelf.

  2. Thank you for the review. Saw her on shelf and was wondering if the helmet was removable. Glad to see it is.
