When I think of what characters would make for a good Halloween-themed October review, I always overlook characters like Rita Repulsa. She's clearly witchy, has a great cackle, and scratches that nostalgic itch. But even still, I've had her sitting around unopened for over a year and, even in plain sight, I didn't think of her as Halloweeny until the last minute. When this new Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Re-Ignition line from Playmates Toys was announced, I wrongly thought it was a boomerang situation where Playmates got the license again after years with other companies. But I am just completely mistaken; the entire run of MMPR figures has been Bandai, Hasbro, and Super7. Somehow this Playmates/MMPR pairing seems like a good fit though. The toys are fun, simple, and inexpensive. I only hope they keep pumping out product instead of a one-and-done release. This Rita Repulsa figure is by far my favorite of all the releases so far. Let's check her out below!
Time for some Group and Comparison Pics!
Here are most of my Ritas together.
From Left to Right: Hasbro Power Rangers Blind Bag Rita (2019), Playmates Re-Ignition (2025), Funko Pint-Size Heroes (2017), Super7 ReAction (2021), Lightning Collection (2020), Bandai (2011), and Imaginext (2015).
Cheers!
