MMPR The Movie - PINK RANGER!

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Movie - TRU Exclusive - Bandai 2015

The Power Rangers were the most popular thing on TV in my high school years.  Of course, that timing meant I thought I was too cool for that kiddie stuff.  I didn't begin to appreciate MMPR (and Sentai in general) until ten years later when I began collecting Japanese vinyl action figures.  Even then, the actual MMPR faction of Power Rangers didn't appeal to me because the vintage toys were pretty hideous.  Luckily it was only a few years before Bandai rebooted the brand in 2010 and the succession of  Power Rangers toys have been wonderful ever since.  Plus Kimberly actually looks like a girl now!  Suddenly I'm happy to embrace the cheesy plotlines and spectrum-themed teenage heroes because there are finally proper toys through which I can enjoy it all.  It's funny how many properties I will completely overlook until there are interesting action figures produced to celebrate them.  Kudos to Bandai for keeping it fresh.  Let's check out Pink Ranger below!

This triangular packaging is a great throwback to the original 1993-1995 packaging.
When looking through blurry photos on eBay it's hard to tell the difference

The detail on her armour is awesome.  Whenever Power Ranger figures are solicited, I always expect them to incorporate re-used molds, but I'm always proven wrong.

The articulation on these figures is fantastic.  Added to all the expected cuts are ball-jointed wrists and ankles
and fairly unhindered hip joints.

Pink Ranger comes with a whip, a hand blaster, and a holster.

The holster is unfortunately an awkward fit.  When plugged into her hip-hole, it sticks out at an obtrusive angle.

Time for some Group and Comparison Pics!

Here she is with the 2010 Kimberly and the S.H.Figuarts version.

and here she is with the most recent Dino Charge Pink Ranger.

Pink overload!

Cheers!

    1. Glad you like the group pic! I think the lot of them toppled over 3 or 4 times before they finally held the pose for the picture haha

  2. Yeah, that Pink Ranger group picture is awesome. I always preferred Trini over Kimberly during the early years (which was all I paid attention to) but it is cool to see some more feminine Pink Rangers figures lately. I like that she comes with the whip although I don't remember it at all.

    1. I'll be posting my SHFiguarts Trini review soon. You'll see a Yellow Ranger group shot in that one for sure! I actually never saw this movie, so I didn't even question the whip.
