Justice League Action 4.5" - WONDER WOMAN!

Justice League Action - Power Connects Series 01 - Wonder Woman - Mattel 2017

It's been a while since there has been a Justice League cartoon on television, and similarly a long time since there have been animated JLA toys in the aisles. When I started seriously collecting toys, I really took for granted that there was always JLA/JLU figures around. I never collected that line myself (because none of the females could stand properly). But now that this new Justice League Action series is hitting the stores I'm realizing the lengthy absence of toys like this. I think the modern age of superhero movies and their merchandise had distracted me. Not to mention the various animated Batman lines. These new figures are pretty great though. The articulation level is unexpected for cartoon tie-ins. And the design is stylistic, but more realistically-proportioned than past efforts. I hope the cartoon and toy line prove to be a success because I would love some obscure secondary characters. I know there have been awesome guest appearances so far. Let's check out Wonder Woman below!

The articulation on this figure is surprisingly good.  She has a swivel neck and waist, but then hinge-and-swivel shoulders, elbows, knees, and hips. Ankle and Wrist cuts would make her perfect, but I don't expect that from kid-oriented basic figures like this.

Wonder Woman comes with a 2-piece spear, a shield, and a blue missile-launcher/gun/backpack thing. The "power Connect" gimmick of this line is that all the accessories from different characters can be assembled and combined in different combinations. She also has a hexagonal hole in the middle of her back (like you see on the middle of her shield), but you can't access it because of her hair.

Time for a Comparison Pic!

Here are a variety of recent Mattel Wonder Women.
From Left to Right: Justice League All-Stars, Total Heroes, Justice League Action, BvS Basic Figure Repaint, and DC Superhero Girls.

Cheers!

  1. Where do you find these? I've never seen them at retail before (maybe I'm not looking hard enough).

    2. Sorry for the delay, I've been out of town forever and now home sick. I picked her up at Toys R Us. I hit up TRU quite often and when I bought her it was the first time I had seen them stocked. Since then they seem to be pretty regularly on display.. although Wonder Woman seems shortpacked.

  2. Is it compatible with G.I. Joe and Marvel Universe figures or are they too big?
