DC Mini-Busts - VIXEN!

Women of the DC Universe - Series 2 (Mini-Busts) - Vixen - DC Direct 2009

Eight years ago I wasn't really a fan of Vixen. I appreciated her as a character, but her actual comics and merchandise didn't thrill me. I'm not making this up, and it's perfectly unplanned, but 8 years ago today (Feb 24th, 2012), my blog was only a month old and I posted a Character Spotlight on Vixen without actually owning any of the pieces. Fast forward to 2020 and I love my little Vixen collection. Learning about her publishing origins and her cancelled solo title from the 70s suddenly gave her a lot of street cred in my book. Then I read her Return of the Lion miniseries and picked up her animated movie and now I consider myself a genuine fan. I think Vixen is a perfect character for a collected edition graphic novel. She has an interesting origin and a lot of varied costumes over the years. Plus they could publish that unseen cancelled solo comic for the first time! I'm going to publish a post on the most needed character-based graphic novels - I have many opinions. Let's check out the Vixen Mini-bust below!

This mini-bust is Designed by Terry Dodson and Sculpted by Barsom.

Time for a Group Pic!

From Left to Right: Eaglemoss Figurine (2012), DC Direct (2007), Heroclix (2012), Women of the DCU Bust, Heroclix (2015), DC Multiverse (2019), and DCU (2005).

Cheers!

  1. Nice looking bust. They could have gone with about any of her different costume styles but this was suits her well. I nice simple look. I like it.

    1. I agree that all her costumes have been cool, but I love this yellow jumpsuit look the most. Mostly because this is when I started reading her books and really liking her.
