The Walking Dead's SASHA WILLIAMS!

AMC's The Walking Dead: Series 10 - Sasha - Walgreens Exc - McFarlane 2017

With the advent of McFarlane Toys' new Color Top series, I fully expected my Walking Dead collection to grind to a halt. Coincidentally this revelation came to me at just about the same time that I stopped watching the show so I wasn't terribly upset. But at the same time, there were a couple great characters that I felt deserved inclusion in the line before it ended: Rosita and Sasha. There was a digital sculpt of Rosita floating around the internet (which I have a gut feeling will never see the light of day), but I honestly thought Sasha was a lost cause. Then McFarlane surprised us by announcing this awesome figure as an exclusive addition to Series 10 available only at Walgreens. The figures in this series have been hit or miss as far as character likenesses go, but it's befitting that possibly the last female turns out to be one of the best. They are really going out with a bang. Sasha first appeared halfway through the third season and I instantly knew she was a strong and formidable character. Let's check her out below!

The only weird thing about this figure is her neck. Or rather where her neck meets her head. It's easy to pose it in a way that makes it look like she has a big goiter.  The neck post could have been sculpted with more of a taper (but that might have affected the head articulation). It's not a big deal, but it's the only constructive criticism I have for an otherwise perfect figure.

Sasha comes with a canteen (which clips to the back of her belt), a rifle, and a knife and handgun (both of which have designated holsters on her hips).

Time for some Group Pics!

Here are all my TV Series Women. From Left to Right: Maggie, Michonne, Sasha, Carol, Beth, and Andrea. I'm missing some Michonne variants.

And here is my whole gang with comic and video game characters added. From Left to Right: Comic Andrea, Comic Michonne (v2), TV Maggie, Video Game Clementine, TV Michonne, TV Sasha, TV Carol, TV Beth, TV Andrea, Comic Alpha, and Comic Lydia. Missing are some Michonne TV variants and any female Walkers. Also embarrassingly missing is my first Walking Dead figure, Comic Series Michonne (v1). She was sitting right next to me when I photographed this group, but somehow missed posing her with the rest.

Cheers!

  1. Great character. Great figure. So glad Walgreens is keeping the Walking Dead 5 inch line going.

    1. Yeah me too. I love how Walgreens is really stepping up and giving us cool exclusive figures... Exclusive Marvel Legends, Funko, Minimates, Walking Dead, and Power Rangers just to name a few. Any even before all the action figure stuff, I collect Pez and certain brand of decorative bird figurines, and Walgreens has always had exclusives of those. I'm also very lucky because I have 16 Walgreens in a relatively small area around me.

  2. My boyfriend surprised me with this and I was so excited as we had a tough time tracking down the Walgreens exclusive Aaron figure. The scale seems a little off to me, but I'll see what she looks like next to the other figures when I get to work.

    1. Nothing like a good surprise toy! You're right, It is a little weird that she's shorter than Beth. I didn't even realize before.

  3. It really is a fantastic figure, the best next to Michonne, and third Beth. Carol, Maggie and Andrea are not so great, but at such small scale, I'm not to bothered.
I am fairly sure Rosita will be done, but I imagine Ezequiel or Jesus will be before her.

    1. I hope you're right about Rosita. My gut says that figures not well into production when they switched over to Colortops won't ever see the light. I saw a digital sculpt of Rosita a few years ago, but without a prototype ever being shown my hopes aren't too high.

  4. I wonder how this toy compares to the modern GI Joes in terms of size and scale. Would she seem like a giant compared to them?

    1. Yes unfortunately, she would look like a giant haha. But there is a big rumor floating around that GI Joe will be making a big comeback in the toy world shortly, and I've heard rumors that there might be larger scale figures in the works like the 6" Star Wars which have been surprisingly popular considering Star Wars basically started the 3.75 craze. But, take all that with a grain of salt. Especially considering all the layoffs Hasbro just announced :\
